Kicks & Giggles

Tyler and I have been talking and are actually really excited to see such a great response from family and friends about this blog. Although there are only 2 followers on the blog, I was surprised to see that there was a positive response. Now everyone Tyler and I love can follow us on our adventures.

Now when I say adventures, I mean life experiences. I like saying adventures because it makes my married life sound more intriguing than it can be sometimes. Tyler and I are indoors by 5 p.m. and in bed by 8. We literally do nothing but talk, make each other laugh and watch movies until one of us falls asleep (that's usually me).  I'm not complaining at all about it either. I think that is why I love being married to Tyler so much. That I have found someone that I can be perfectly happy with even when there is nothing to say. You just hold each other while things happen around you. I am happy just being next to my best friend. That one person who knows me better than anyone else.

Some of you may be wondering about the title. Well, I'm sure some of you think that I, Afton Holt Pranger, may be pregnant. I know that there are 2 people (for sure) wanting me to be so they can be an aunt and uncle. They ask each time we get on the phone to chat. I also have other family members who are pushing me towards it and others telling me that I'm "just not ready." I'm here to inform everyone that ... I am not pregnant, yet. Tyler and I are upset too.

For the Anglo-Saxon and my FedEx Companion, y'all must be patient a bit longer, eh? When it does happen, I will make you both t-shirts that say "Future Aunt and Uncle of the coolest 1/4 Asian kid EVER!" That's too long but I'm working on it. I do know this though, my kids will be calling their grandparents Obachan (Grandma) and Ojiisan (Grandpa). Hehe. We'll have "somewhat" looking asian kids running around calling Tyler's parents and my parents Japanese names. I don't think my dad is too excited about that either. He wants the traditional grandpa.

I asked Tyler if he had anything to add to our blog but he doesn't have much to say. He's too busy watching Royal Pains and doesn't want me editing what he types. For now, this is farewell until we have more to say or had an actual adventure.

The End

The End of Spring & On to Summer

Nothing exciting going on here in Idaho. We do live quite close to a park but it's full of loud, annoying people and way too many children running around without adult supervision. Oly spends his weekends somewhere else and Tyler and I spend our time at home. We did go see Transformers 3 last weekend after Tyler finished donating. We had an adventure before leaving for the theatre.

Tyler's arm was dripping in blood and we had to rush over to the pharmacy to pick up gauze and ace wrap. The cashier looked worried and rushed to check us out as the mom behind us was speechless. We then rushed back out to the truck where Tyler washed off all of the blood from his arm and hands while I bandaged his arm back up. Afterwards, Tyler was giggling and acting weird. He blamed the "loss of blood" for his "actions."

He was a good sport and we had a good rest of the day!

The 4th of July was a very uneventful day for the most part. We spent most of the day watching movies. Afton and I saw Super 8 and then went home to watch Independence Day. We did want to go to the park that day but there was a parade, lots of people, and some sort of fair. Too bad we didn't know of a rodeo. I know Afton would have enjoyed going to that.

Later that evening we had made plans to make a fire in the pit at our apartment complex to roast some hot dogs and marshmallows. Since it was 90 degrees out we decided to hold off on the fire till later that night.

The temperature eventually dropped. We lit a fire and roasted marshmallows. The s'mores were delicious and the fire was perfect. I had some sparklers left over from Kathy and Louie's wedding. Oly, Afton and I lit sparklers right outside our front door. I had fun lighting some of the cottonwood seeds on fire under our front window. Being the paranoid type, Oly has me dump a gallon of water on the bushes to make sure our apartment didn't catch fire while se slept that night.

Started my week off just right.
